Episode 0: Introduction

Oh, hi! đŸ‘‹đŸŒWelcome to the first episode of Tokyo Kawaii Club Radio, my new podcast about my 2 favorite things: Disney and Japan. Wait, did I say this was my first episode? Oops, I lied – it's more like the introduction to the first episode. So, like, episode 0, I guess? Zero goes before 1, right? I think so... Yay math!

So what can you expect to hear on this podcast? Funny I made you ask that stupidly obvious rhetorical question. Get this... THIS PODCAST EXPLAINS THAT! Crazy, right? But if you don't feel like listening (or you like written explanations in addition to verbal), here's the basic gist:

Each week (*crosses fingers*), myself and my Japanese friend Manae yap about all things Tokyo Disney, review a random Disney thing (ex: movie, tv show, etc.), and give y'all some tips about visiting Japan. Rad! But that's not all...

SAY WHAAAAAAA?

WHAAAAAAA, I say, indeed!

So in addition to the weekly Disney episode, every other week (*cross fingers tighter*) I'll be releasing a MEGA EPISODE that will have both a regular Disney-themed episode and a special BONUS Japan-themed episode that will play immediately afterwards. Yes, you read that right – TWO episodes for the PRICE of ONE. Or none, actually – these are free. Wait, these are FREE? BEST DEAL EVER!

These Japan-themed chats (which will be dubbed Nihon Nerd episodes after my personal blog of the same name), will (usually) feature me interviewing other expats (or natives!) about what it's like to live in this rad country I've decided to call my home. If you also dig Japan (and want to visit someday and/or come again), then I highly recommend checking these episodes out. Hell, I recommend listening even if you hate Japan and never ever want to step foot here. Although, if you feel that way, WHY ARE YOU EVEN READING THIS? Don't answer that – I'm just happy you are reading this. Wait... You are reading this, right? Hello? Is this thing on...?

I hope so! Because you can find the first episode-before-the-first-official-episode below. And starting next Tuesday (or Wednesday depending where you live in the world), I'll be uploading a new episode every week. Rad!

OK, with all that mumbo jumbo out of the way, here's all the info you need to stay up-to-date:

  • Subscribe: If you wanna make sure you get every new episode without flexing your mental muscles, subscribe to the podcast! Doing so is pretty easy, just hit that Subscribe button wherever you get your podcasts (ex: iTunes) or use this feed: https://feed.podbean.com/tokyokawaiiclub/feed.xml
  • Patreon: This podcast is totally free for you (yay, no money!), but totally not free for me (wait, no money?!? đŸ˜±). So if you want to meet your charitable quota for the day, why not visit my Patreon page?: https://www.patreon.com/tokyokawaiiclub. Your support will not only help me continue to keep the weekly blabber coming, but it will also help me afford some better equipment so I can make the podcast not suck too much. Also, to show my thanks to all my Patreon supporters, I'll even be releasing EXCLUSIVE podcast content as well! And some other perks like early access and shout-outs.
  • Blog: I'll continue to create a blog entry for each episode. Worth checking out every week, as I'll post any relevant links and/or media we talk about in the episode. For instance, if we review an episode of a show I found online and/or talk about an internet article, I'll make sure to post here so y'all can see it.
  • Feedback: If y'all got feedback/questions/comments about the podcast that involves more than telling me it sucks (tell me something I don't know!), feel free to send it over to podcast@tokyokawaiiclub.com. Because I'll be recording a lot of episodes in advance, it may take some time for me to incorporate any feedback, but I'll do my best to read everything that's sent over.

That's it! Enjoy the episode zero.
